Phronetik was founded in 2013 by Dr. Tania M. Martin-Mercado ("Dr. Tania"), driven by a deeply personal experience and a quest for answers to complex health questions. When her mother, a healthy individual with no known genetic predispositions, was diagnosed with breast cancer, Dr. Tania was struck by a single pressing question: “How and why does one get a disease without any family history or adverse lifestyle behaviors?” Determined to dig deeper, she established Phronetik to bridge the gap between health data and personalized care, focusing on translating complex genetic insights into actionable information that could impact patient lives. With no external funding or venture capital, Phronetik began with modest roots and has since grown into a pioneering force in precision health, embodying Dr. Tania’s relentless commitment to finding answers where none existed.
